Albert T. Chevez, Ed.M. Director and Advisor

Mr. Chevez joined the UC Riverside community in July, 2007. He is the first Director of the new Medical and Health Careers Program, which was created in 2007. Prior to his arrival at UCR, he held different positions at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, since 1999, including several years as the Associate Director of Admissions for the Medical School. He brings a strong set of specific advising experiences and advocacy for student development having worked with many undergraduate and medical students, medical residents, medical doctors, and related organizations.
Mr. Chevez earned his Bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach and Master's degrees from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. He grew up in Southern California but has also lived in New York City, Boston, and the Bay Area. In addition to working with students, Mr. Chevez also enjoys following politics, current events, and sports.

Ms. Hill arrived in February 2008 from Occidental College in Los Angeles where she was Director of the Fellowships and Health Professions Advising Office. Prior to that she worked 20+ years at the University of Colorado, including the University of Colorado School of Medicine where she served as Director of Diversity and Inclusion, the CU Health Sciences Center Director of the Office of Diversity, and the CU School of Nursing Director of Admissions and Student Support and Director of Learner Support. Ms. Hill earned her Bachelor's degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver and Master's degree from the University of Colorado Denver.
Ms. Hill enjoys working with students on their journey to careers in the health professions. She also enjoys time with grandchildren and exploring southern California.
